. At the time of that post I had little information regarding Waypoint 622, the new contemporary waterfront restaurant. Recently I was provided information that I am excited to share.

Waypoint 622 is moving along quickly with major renovations to the restaurant and property. The interior restaurant is being redesigned into a contemporary space with seating for over 100 guests. Outside, a new deck is being constructed with a 40 seat bar where there will be 12 beer taps and an assortment of craft brews. There will also be two vodka dispensers from which choice selections will flow at an exhilarating five degrees.

The entire operation is under the direction of Chef Dan Palsi, who was head chef at the exclusive Manasquan Golf Club for nearly 20 years. He has been featured in the New York Times, Asbury Park Press and NJ Monthly.  Chef Dan is embracing the challenge to present his own creations at this soon to be landmark destinatio

Chef Dan Palsi will be creating contemporary American cuisine prepared with prime meat from local farms, certified Angus beef, wild caught seafood and farm to table produce. The menu will feature hormone free and organic items. A new wine list has been scrupulously created to pair with the cuisine. There will also be opportunities for private dining experiences in the kitchen.

In the plans for Waypoint 622 are live entertainment, culinary classes and many other events. Boaters are welcomed to dock and dine and even present their own catch to be prepared with skillful artistry of Chef Dan.

I stopped by over the weekend and saw construction work progressing at a fast pace. Landscaping was being created on the landside and steel I-beams had been erected on the waterfront above a newly constructed retaining bulkhead. Waterfront construction is not like conventional building. It is designed today to withstand whatever nature has in store. This was very evident in what will soon be hidden by the exterior façade and deck.

Waypoint 622 is certain to become a prime destination, by land and sea, for local residents and visitors. With the expertise and following of Chef Dan Palsi and the concept of the owners of Hoffman Marina, known for forward thinking, Waypoint 622 will surely become the rising star on the Jersey Shore dining scene. As soon as I have information on the opening of the inside and outside I will post it. I will try to get a firm date as things progress.
